HomeIQ

Affiliation: University of Thessaly
Resolution: Group | Duration: More than four hours

Overview

Goals

HomeIQ is a smart-home platform that enables the co-ordination of 3rd party sensors & smart devices (e.g. smart locks, thermostats, lights) with just one small controller module that is located in the house. HomeIQ is the only platform that not only visualizes and controls the devices, but allows the user to create custom automations choosing from all the 3rd party devices that the user owns through a very easy drag and drop process.

Learning Objectives

Students will learn how to set up a virtual machine and how a connection between hardware and software can be established.

Context

The design and implementation of HomeIQ will be our team's project in the Design and Development of Software course in the Electrical Engineering Department of the University of Thessaly.
