## Overview

### Goals

The objective of the activity is to apply Bernoulli equation to the flow of fluids through pipes and channels of variable cross section.

### Learning Objectives

When completing the assignment, the students will be able: • to understand the nature and ways of application of Bernoulli equation; • to define and measure the basic quantities describing the flow of fluids through pipes and channels; • to analyze fluid flows through pipes and channels of variable cross section.

### Context

Bernoulli equation is used to describe the flow of fluids through pipes and channels. In practice its form for set flows of ideal and real fluids is mostly used. Upon solving practical problems, it is complemented by the Continuity equation. With real fluids, hydraulic resistances are also taken into consideration by using Darcy –Weisbach equations.
