Reaction of Beam Elements
Affiliation: TU GabrovoResolution: Group | Duration: Two to four hours
Overview
Goals
The objective of this session is to determine the reaction of beam elements subjected to an arbitrary external load and resting on supports for different purposes by using SAP2000 software
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this assignment, using SAP2000 the students will be able to: • construct the correct geometry of beam elements; • set supports that require degrees of freedom in varying numbers; • set physical characteristics of beam elements; • define the reactions in beam elements.
Context
Beam elements such as bolts, beams, shafts, spindles, etc. are the most widely used ones in machine building. Each assembled unit has pieces which are outlined as beam elements. The definition of the reactions within them plays a key role in the correct determination of specific dimensions of the vey beam elements.
