Active Learning gives partial real-world experiences to the students in classroom setting. The experience gives a good impact for students to map the theory to practice in order to increase understanding and skillsets. Flip classroom, problem-based learning, and case-based learning have been proven to be effective techniques to engage the learning process. The instructors are proven successfully used the techniques on inspection review and black box testing where all the activities conducted in a team. The question is How effective the techniques are on learning white box testing and static analysis where program code is the main artefact? Is other technique better to be used in building the skillsets on white box and static analysis? How far effective Active Learning is in developing future high skill software testers?

Active learning should be useful for students. However, in my opinion time need to be also spent on lecture based learning. Students need to develop focus and listening skills for an extended period.
